First Home Owner Grant saving millions of dollars in Ballarat

Thanks in part to the State Government’s initiatives, 726 first homebuyers have bought in Ballarat and nearby regions since July 1, 2017.

State wide, 2440 buyers have received the $20,000 First Home Owner Grant available in regional Victoria. Saving first home buyers more than $48 million.

The State Government has also reduced stamp duty for properties under $600,000 - as of July 2018, the median house price in Ballarat Central is only $440,000*.

First home buyers have saved nearly $7.5 million in Ballarat alone including $5.5 million thanks to the First Home Owner Grant.

Many first home buyers from Melbourne have chosen to purchase in Ballarat as a result. And the Ballarat real estate market has caught fire over the last 12 months.
